Two men have been charged in connection with a suitcase robbery where a substance thought to be pepper spray resulted in harm at the UK's busiest airport.

Tyrone Richards, 31, and Anton Clarke-Butcher, 24, have both been charged with two counts of robbery and two counts of deploying a toxic agent, authorities have stated.

The charges follow an probe of an attack at the multi-storey car park at Terminal 3 on Sunday. Before the assault occurred, two female travelers had their suitcases stolen after getting out of a parking garage elevator, authorities reported.

A three-year-old girl was one of the people hurt in the event. A total of five individuals were taken to a medical facility and were subsequently released.

This event – which authorities stated was isolated and not being treated as terrorism – resulted in disruptions to rail services and the temporary blocking of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the T3 parking area for a short time.
