Top-ranked Sabalenka Secures Consecutive WTA Top Player Awards.
World number one Aryna Sabalenka has been voted the Women's Tennis Association player of the year for a second successive year.
The twenty-seven-year-old captured four titles – the most on tour – including retaining the US Open this past September against Amanda Anisimova to earn her fourth career Grand Slam singles championship.
A Year of Dominance
Throughout the year, Sabalenka competed in a tour-best nine finals, with defeats coming to Madison Keys in the Australian Open final in January and Coco Gauff in June's French Open final.
The Belarusian also triumphed at the Brisbane International early in the season, the Miami Open during the spring, and the Madrid Open as the clay season progressed. She spent the entire year as the top-ranked player, ending 2025 atop the rankings for a second straight year.
In July, she achieved the status of being the first player to exceed 12,000 WTA ranking points after Serena Williams in 2015.
Record-Breaking Statistics
Sabalenka finished the competitive year with a sixty-three to twelve match record, and collected a historic £11m in earnings.
She received nearly 80% of the votes submitted by international tennis media.
On 28 December, she is scheduled to face 2022 Wimbledon finalist Nick Kyrgios in a Battle of the Sexes-style exhibition match with the aim of "raise women's tennis to a new level".
