On Monday, Leicester Crown Court heard phone records and evidence retrieved from phones recorded Ms Wandelt persistently requesting Madeleine's mother for a DNA test over 2023 and 2024.

Madeleine's vanishing in 2007 - at the age of three during a family holiday in Portugal - is one of the most publicized investigations and is still open.

'I Am Not Seeking Money'

A separate phone message, presented in court, recorded Ms Wandelt stating: "I know I'm fat and plain like Madeleine used to be, but I feel what I know."

While another instance of Ms Wandelt's recordings with Mrs McCann's recording said: "What if there is a slight possibility that I am Madeleine? What then? Wouldn't that be important for you?"

"I am not seeking money, I possess a living here in Poland, I only wish to understand," she added.

The jury was advised that by means of electronic messages, SMS messages and calls, Ms Wandelt demanded a DNA test, forwarded youth pictures to her phone in a bid to display a likeness to Mrs McCann's vanished daughter, and claimed to have "memories" from a youth with the McCanns.

The investigator, an intelligence analyst with law enforcement who gathered the data, told the court there "seemed to lack any answers" from Mrs McCann.

Ms Wandelt furthermore communicated with family friends of the McCanns, based on the phone records.

On October 9th, 2024, Mr McCann answered a phone call from Ms Wandelt to his wife's phone, saying she had "the wrong phone."

During that incident Ms Wandelt left a voicemail on Mrs McCann's answerphone declaring "I will persist and I plan to establish my point."

The court learned Mrs Spragg struck up a connection via internet with Ms Wandelt prior to assisting her on a appearance to the McCanns' property in Leicestershire in last December.

Communication data showed Mrs Spragg had communicated via messaging service to Mrs McCann to express the media had portrayed Ms Wandelt as "emotionally disturbed" but that she deserved to be considered genuine in the months before the appearance to the village, Leicestershire, in last December.

The court was told correspondence between the two defendants, in last November, discussing endeavoring to get Mrs McCann's DNA samples from her garbage or from cutlery at a eating establishment.

"We need to take action," the co-defendant advised Ms Wandelt.

On the evening of the visit to their home, Mrs Spragg sent a text which expressed: "We are sat near the McCanns' residence with our headlights off similar to detectives. I wanted to accomplish this with someone else I never thought I would be doing that with the McCanns."

The case ongoing.
